I found out late today that Pleasanton is offering $465 worth of free classes (48 hours worth) through EDD in conjunction with Adult Ed in Pleasanton. You, of course, must be signed up for unemployment benefits to qualify for the free tuition.
Must sign up prior to the orientation class tomorrow which is mandatory and runs from 2-3pm. You can call Noreen at 925-485-5262 from 9:30am on tomorrow. The orientation tomorrow is required or you can't take the classes. When I left EDD just prior to closing today, Noreen said she had several openings left.
You must have basic computer skills. I don't know how advanced this is.
Classes run from May 19 through June 18 on T,W,Th evenings from 4-8pm.
5 weeks of classes.
Flyer reads: Fees: $465 plus books and EDD pays the tuition but I didn't get time to call back and ask about the books.
Class covers MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
